COR Cooling makes two significant
acquisitions in South Australia
Wednesday, 16 November 2011 00:00
On September 30, 2011, COR Cooling acquired the Southstate Industrial Radiators business in Wingfield. This was closely followed by the acquisition of Tonkin Radiators, on October 31.
Both Southstate and Tonkins are long-established family companies and are market-leaders in SA for medium to heavy road transport cooling system service and repair.
The two companies will soon be brought under one roof in the Southstate facility on Francis Road in Wingfield.
The existing workshops and offices on the site are currently being overhauled and will soon triple in size, up to a total of around 1000m2, to make room for this expansion.
Trevor Story, previous owner of Southstate Industrial Radiators, has taken on the role of COR Cooling SA State Manager and is currently overseeing the upgrade of the Wingfield facility to state-of-the-art standard.
Mr Story said the new combined operation would provide many opportunities.
“This new workshop will give us the capability to work on the biggest mining and heavy industrial radiators and coolers in the world,” he said.
“On top of that, We’ve been able to retain all staff from both businesses which is fantastic and bringing the two teams together under the one roof will allow us to focus on delivering the highest quality products and services to our customers in SA.
”COR Cooling CEO Chris Lees said South Australia represented a key component in the company’s overall offering.
“With Olympic Dam and several other major mining projects underway across the state, we couldn’t ignore Adelaide as a strategic location for our business,” he said.
“We knew we needed the capacity to provide the same high quality, service and expertise to the burgeoning mining sector in SA, as we currently do in Queensland and WA.”
“Our new world-class workshop in Wingfield will certainly deliver that for our customers in South Australia.”
COR Cooling acquires Diecon Engineering
COR Cooling would like to announce the acquisition of Diecon Engineering as of 1st August 2011.
This acquisition gives COR Cooling a greater head office, workshop and distribution facility in SEQ to complement the current workshop in Mackay and sets up further opportunities for growth. COR Cooling has also been able to improve its services for its current customer base throughout NSW, QLD and Internationally with the Diecon takeover.
The Diecon business is a great compliment to the current COR Cooling business allowing COR to expand its products and expertise further into the marine industry with the Diecon name being well regarded across Australia and the South Pacific for quality products and personal service.
Managing Director of Diecon Engineering Bruce Krautz will actively remain with the business to ensure his 30+ years of expertise remain with the company and Diecon’s customers can be assured to receive the same quality service they have come to expect from the brand
COR Cooling CEO, Chris Lees said he was excited about the acquisition.
“We know there are many fantastic opportunities that the addition of Diecon Engineering will bring to our group and we believe it will put COR Cooling in a great growth position into the future,” he said.
